SHAH ALAM, April 6 — The Jelajah Selangor Bekerja programme last year managed to help 715 individuals gain employment after going through interviews, said state executive councillor for human capital development Mohd Khairuddin Othman.

He said the programme, which ran from October 23 to November 27, involved six areas within Selangor.

“From the roadshow that was organised, there were also 1,178 people who attended on the day itself and who qualified for the second interview session where they had a chance to find work.

“Therefore we propose organising another programme in June with the hopes it will help to reduce the unemployment rate in the state,” Mohd Khairuddin said when contacted.

The Jelajah Selangor Bekerja programme travelled to several locations including Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Hulu Langat and Petaling.

Over 25,000 job opportunities were offered via the roadshow, encompassing the sectors of services, manufacturing, electronics, management and aerospace.

This year will see the Selangor Mega Job Carnival take place for two days starting on June 11 at the MBSA Convention Centre in Shah Alam.
