SHAH ALAM, April 28 — The KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) is offering free bulk waste collection to the Muslim community across the state in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
Its managing director Ramli Mohd Tahir said the service is provided a week before the Syawal month to facilitate residents who want to get rid of their bulky belongings such as furniture.
“The Muslim residents can gather the bulk waste outside their houses and our cleaning workers would collect the waste with no charge.
“However, we hope the residents would be mindful by not putting too much waste and leaving some space for their neighbour’s garbage,” he said after the iftar ceremony with media at the Shah Alam Convention Centre, here last night.
Ramli added the waste would be collected according to the schedule set by them.
“In Shah Alam City Council area, we have placed the Roll On Roll Off (RoRo) bins at each housing area so that it will be easy for the residents to dispose of unwanted items,” he said.
Application for the service could be done by contacting the KDEBWM hotline at 1-800-88-2824 or via the iClean Selangor app that is available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
