SHAH ALAM, April 2 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had conveyed his best wishes to those fasting in the month of Ramadan, which begins tomorrow, and reminded the people to continue adhering to the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
In a statement today, Amirudin said that while the country transitions to the Covid-19 endemic phase, the public should not be complacent despite the leeway given during the fasting month.
“Many among us surely miss the Ramadan practices before the pandemic. Now that we are in a transition phase to endemic, the Muslims are once again allowed to perform the congregational terawih prayers and conduct religious activities at the mosques and suraus.
“But I would like to remind that we continue wearing the face masks, bring our own prayer mats, and make sure that we are not experiencing any symptoms before attending the congregational prayers,” he said.
Amirudin had also reminded strengthening of the ties among Muslims while embracing the spirit of fasting during the holy month.
“I hope that Muslims would not only be praying close to one another but would also unite their hearts with blessings, peace and away from unease.
“I pray that all our good deeds in the holy month would be accepted by God,” said Amirudin.
Muslims in Malaysia observe the month of Ramadan by fasting from dawn to dusk beginning Sunday (April 3).
