MB extends condolences on passing of former Govt Chief Secretary Ali Hamsa

SHAH ALAM, April 21 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has extended his condolences to the family of former Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa, who passed away earlier today.

He also offered prayers for Ali’s soul to be blessed and placed among the ranks of the righteous.

Inalillahwainailaihirajiun (from Allah do we come and to Him do we return to) My condolences to the family of the late Tan Sri Ali Hamsa, former Chief Secretary to the Government who passed away,” Amirudin said on Twitter.

The 66-year old civil servant died while receiving treatment at the Dublin Hospital in Ireland.

Hailing from Johor, Ali began his career with the civil service in 1981 in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service, and went on to serve in various capacities in different ministries and government departments.

Prior to his stint as Chief Secretary to the Government from 2012 to 2018, Ali also held the position of chairman of the 1Malaysia Housing Programme, member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (UN CEPA) and chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity.
