SHAH ALAM, April 4 — State-owned entity Menteri Besar (Incorporated) or MBI will distribute 1,000 food packs every day in several select locations throughout Selangor for the month of Ramadan.

Its corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said 500 packs were distributed at the Darul Ehsan Building earlier today, while the remaining 500 were distributed in select locations.

“MBI also received applications from orphanages and the food packs were distributed in cooperation with Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (Yide) involving 500 packs as well as distributions on certain days.

“We also distributed bubur lambuk and dates at selected bazaars at around three times a week,” he said when contacted.

Ahmad Azri added that MBI has allocated RM3 million for various Ramadan programmes this year, including donations to mosques and suraus for festive activities throughout the month.

“So far we have channelled it to mosques and suraus in the Gombak area, and we hope the mosques and suraus in other areas seeking to hold any activities will apply with MBI.

On March 25 MBI handed over RM565,000 in contributions to mosques and suraus around Gombak, as part of the Ihya’ Ramadan programme.

The handover was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at Masjid Al Khairiyah in Taman Seri Gombak.
