MBPJ visits Ramadan bazaars to help traders register with Plats 3.0

SHAH ALAM, April 13 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has gone down to the ground to the Ramadan bazaars under its jurisdiction to aid entrepreneurs to register with the Selangor Platform (Plats) 3.0.

Its corporate communications unit said the council also cooperated with Rakan Digital Selangor (RDS) to promote the platform during the recent bazaar plot draw.

“The cooperation with RDS was also seen during the Jom Digitalkan Perniagaan Anda course on March 1, which provided explanations to entrepreneurs regarding Plats.

“In fact, last year we informed the Micro-Entrepreneur WhatsApp group on the platform prepared by the state government to help them market their businesses,” it said.

MBPJ added it is important for the public to receive clear information to ensure Plats is more widely known and beneficial for Selangor residents.

“Indirectly entrepreneurs will realise the importance of Plats which can provide added-value to their daily incomes,” it said, adding 1,150 entrepreneurs have previously joined 1.0 dan 2.0.

Meanwhile, Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) president Rahilah Rahmat said its Licensing Department will cooperate with Plats to increase the number of participants on the virtual platform.

She said 109 entrepreneurs in the district have registered with Plats 1.0 and Plats 2.0 thus far.

“We will communicate the information directly to entrepreneurs regarding the initiative asides from promoting it on MPKS’ social media, along with a link to the Plats website,” she said.

Plats 3.0 was launched on April 8 in collaboration with 12 local authorities, targeting the participation of 10,000 traders and entrepreneurs.

The platform was introduced during Ramadan two years ago to complete the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem involving entrepreneurs through a single digital platform.

On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to aid traders in generating income full-time rather than being limited to the fasting month only.
