Nearly 60,000 parking coupons turned digital at value of almost RM40,000 — Exco

SHAH ALAM, April 18 — Approximately 57,518 scratch-and-display parking coupons have been converted to e-coupons involving nearly RM40,000 in transactions as of today, said state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han.

He said users facing problems concerning digital parking via the Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) app are asked to refer to legitimate e-coupon agents.

“The local authorities in urban areas have been changing many of these scratch-and-display parking coupons. Any users having digital parking problems should refer to legitimate e-coupon agents.

“The agents will help you to purchase e-coupons. After paying they will enter the user’s vehicle number. So this move makes it easier for users,” Ng told SelangorKini.

Starting on April 1, the payment for car parking for all local authorities throughout Selangor now fully utilise the e-coupon system.

As such the public is encouraged to download the SSP app from the Google Playstore, AppStore or the Huawei Store for convenience and ease of managing payments.

Those who were using scratch-and-display parking coupons are required to register as SSP users to transfer the remaining value of these coupons into credits starting on March 26.

The initiative was decided after taking into account the concerns of consumers who face losses following the enforcement of the digital parking system.
