SUBANG JAYA, April 23 — The Selangor Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS) is prepared to continue the Jualan Prihatin Rakyat programme after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration following a good response from the people.

However, its chief executive officer Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the matter depends on the state government’s decision.

“We await the instruction. If the infrastructure, supply, logistics and financial matters are sufficient, the programme may be continued.

“So far, based on the earlier discussion, the programme is only organised throughout the Ramadan month until Hari Raya Aidilfitri to help ease the people’s burden in spending for daily necessities,” he said when met after the breaking fast event yesterday.

On February 27, Selangor started the Jualan Prihatin Rakyat programme, which offers goods and produces at affordable prices, that was conducted every weekend to cover 64 areas throughout the state.

The programme offers chicken sales priced at RM12 per piece, fresh meat at RM35 per kilogramme, eggs at RM10 per carton, and mackerels and sardines at RM8 per pack.

A total of 10,000 chickens, 3,100 kilogrammes (kg) of fresh meat, 6,200 kg of mackerel fish and 315,000 grade B eggs have been sold throughout the programme.
