SUBANG JAYA, April 9 — The implementation of the Selangor Platform (Plats) has succeeded in providing entrepreneurial opportunities to traders in generating higher levels of income.

Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Johary Anuar said the state government programme has made a positive impact, particularly on micro-entrepreneurs to continually rise for the sake of living.

“From 2021 until today, approximately 1,099 traders especially micro-entrepreneurs in the Subang Jaya area have successfully registered their businesses via Plats.

“This sincere effort as seen can not only bring about impact but also open more space and opportunities for traders to promote their respective brand’s products,” he said.

Johary was speaking after the launch of the Selangor Platform (Plats) 3.0 at the Bandar Kinrara 5 Ramadan bazaar in Puchong yesterday evening, which was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Menteri Besar also spent time interacting with traders and bazaar goers, accompanied by state executive councillor for entrepreneurs Rodziah Ismail, state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han, and state executive councillor for caring government V. Ganabatirau.

Johary added that throughout the month of Ramadan this year approximately 16 bazaar locations have been opened under the jurisdiction of the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) with 1,251 plots offered.

“By implementing the Ramadan bazaars MBSJ is outlining four important elements towards realising the Go Green Initiative campaign.

“To encourage society to enculturalise the campaign of reducing plastic usage, MBSJ via the ‘Bring Your Own Container’ campaign has prepared vouchers worth RM5 to 2,000 visitors who bring their own food containers to the bazaars,” he said.
