Stormy weather warning in Sabak Bernam this evening

SHAH ALAM, April 7 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and strong winds warning in Sabak Bernam, which will last until 4pm this evening.

In a statement released on Facebook at 11.45am, the agency said similar weather pattern is also expected to hit other states including Perak (Manjung, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Terengganu (Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu and Marang) as well as Johor (Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).

Meanwhile, in East Malaysia, several areas, including Sarawak (Mukah, Bintulu and Miri) and the west coast of Sabah and Kudat, are also anticipated to undergo inclement weather.

The agency issues a warning when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over one hour.

Thunderstorm warnings are short-term and valid within six hours after they are issued.
