One of the participants, Shazli Rifaat Ghazali from Dr Tuna Sdn Bhd (Dr Tuna), said he was excited when invited by Invest Selangor to join the programme.

The company manufactures the premium Yellowfin Tuna Satay as a healthier alternative to frozen satay.

“We want to use this opportunity to make the Dr Tuna brand more well-known to the public, aside from eyeing the possibility of entering more Malaysian supermarkets and hypermarkets. Additionally we are also aiming to penetrate foreign markets since we are confident that Dr Tuna has its own speciality,” said Shazli, who is the chief business development officer for Dr Tuna.

Another participant, ITP Foods Sdn Bhd which specialises in sauces, cooking pastes and condiments, also seeks to use the platform provided by Invest Selangor to introduce their brand to the wider public.

Its sales and marketing manager Anderson Khor said the company is promoting their authentic cooking paste products including the Nasi Lemak Paste, Thai Steam Paste and Chilli Crab Paste.

“By participating in the programme, hopefully we are able to introduce our brand to the local market and foster more connections with retail players.

“Since our brand is quite new on the market, we hope this event can help us promote it and reach out to more people. Similarly, we also aim to explore more market segments and want to export our cooking pastes to other countries in the future,” he said.
