SHAH ALAM, May 11 — The next Karnival Jualan Mega Prihatin during the festive season will focus on chicken sales.

State executive councillor for agricultural modernisation and agro-based industry Izham Hashim said the effort aims to help people buy chicken at cheaper prices.

“We have seen the response in the previous programme which was very encouraging and Insya Allah (God willing), we will see it (similar initiative) in the next festive celebration, we will continue the support.

“The nearest (festive season) is Aidiladha. We are not worried about meat because we have approved the allocation for the sacrifices, so if we want to (organise), maybe (we) only (sell) chicken,” he told SelangorKini.

The Selangor government has organised a mega sale for Aidilfitri involving 29 locations from April 25 to May 2.

This week-long Aidilfitri mega sale offers 23,200 fresh chicken, 23,200 kilogrammes (kg) of solid meat, beef bones (16,700 kg), grade B chicken eggs (18,200 cartons), and packet cooking oil (25,200 kg) as well as 1,500kg of selayang and kembung fish (QFish).
