Menteri Besar attends Teachers’ Day celebration, launches free tuition programme

SHAH ALAM, May 20 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari attended the Teachers’ Day 2022 celebration held at Dewan Jubli Perak in the Selangor State Legislative Building here today.

At the same event, Amirudin also launched the Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme (PTRS) which is meant to help students from low-income families.

Also in attendance was Selangor Education Department director Rohayati Abd Hamed and Selangor Islamic Religious Department director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad.

“This programme is a manifestation of the close relationship with the state’s education department, especially in implementing one of the state government’s initiatives namely the PTRS.

“The role of a teacher is not limited only to conveying knowledge to students but also to shape them into good individuals who are competitive, via the inculcation of good practices that are naturally applied in schools,” he said.
