KLANG, May 17 — Sentosa state assemblyman Dr G Gunarajah has allocated RM60,000 to help the less fortunate since January this year.

He said the assistance included food baskets and school essentials which are still being distributed until now as many people were still affected by the pandemic.

“Although we have moved into the transition to the endemic phase, the effects from the Covid-19 pandemic are still evident until now, as many still need help.

“Our team has always taken the initiative to go down to the ground to take a closer look at the needs of the community, if there are people in need, we will make sure the aid is distributed immediately,” he told SelangorKini.

He said this after visiting the free health screening programme at the Sri Raja Rajeswari Temple here, yesterday.

He said so far this year, they have distributed a total of 1,500 food baskets as well as school essentials which benefited hundreds of students.

“A total of 7,000 families have received food baskets since the pandemic hit the country two years ago,” he said.
