SUBANG JAYA, May 13 — The flood mitigation works in Taman Kinrara will begin on May 18, says Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han.
He said the construction of the wall is estimated to cost around RM800,000 which will be borne by the Selangor Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID).
“I was informed by DID that the wall’s construction involves a length of 300 metres with a height and width of two metres each.
“At Kolam Bohol, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Kuala Lumpur DID have also carried out deepening and cleaning work as it is shallow, which can cause easy flooding when it rains,” he said.
On March 28, Ng said he visited the Kolam Bohol site to witness the pond’s deepening work.
Ng, who is also the state executive councillor for local government, hopes the effort to deepen the pond and strengthen its bank can prevent future floods from happening in Taman Kinrara.
