Upgrading works at Bandar Puteri Puchong to ease traffic flow

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 — The newly upgraded Lebuh Puteri at Bandar Puteri Puchong, which officially opens for public use today, is anticipated to improve accessibility and ease traffic flow to the township.

The RM90 million upgrading and expansion project, spanning 2.35 km, was undertaken by IOI Properties Group Bhd (IOIPG) and took five-and-a-half years to complete.

“We hope this could ease traffic movement up to 90 per cent while at the same, accommodate to the higher population in Bandar Puteri Puchong in the future,” said IOIPG chief executive officer Datuk Voon Tin Yow during the official opening ceremony of the Rio City Interchange yesterday.

The interchange, which forms part of the project, is located at the intersection of Lebuh Puteri and Persiaran Puteri in front of IOI Galleria @ Puchong.

Also present were state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han and Subang Jaya deputy mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali.

Voon said the community project was developed by IOIPG in two phases as an investment to build sustainable communities, despite handing over the infrastructure to the authorities.

The first phase of the infrastructure works at Lebuh Puteri commenced from August 2016 to September 2019.

It includes the construction of a flyover from Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) to Lebuh Puteri Puchong to improve connectivity toward Bandar Puteri Puchong.

IOIPG, a lifestyle property developer, also constructed a 35-metre covered pedestrian bridge and walkway connecting the Puchong Financial Corporate Centre and the Taman Perindustrian Puchong LRT Station.

The second phase commenced from February 2019 to April 2022.

It includes a dedicated underpass for direct access into IOI Rio, an additional 80-metre long underpass beneath Rio City Interchange, and a pedestrian bridge from the commercial area of The Cube to Rio City, as well as upgrading of street lights and pedestrian crossing with signal lights.
