SHAH ALAM, May 2 — A pollution incident at the Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station has resulted in an unexpected water disruption to five Selangor districts, affecting 472 areas.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd’s corporate communication head Elina Baseri said the incident caused the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Bukit Tampoi WTP to shut down at 6:15am and 11:30am, respectively.

“The five regions under Air Selangor include Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (196 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (27 areas) are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions starting at 3pm today,” she said in a statement.

Due to the disruption, Air Selangor will provide alternative assistance through water tankers that will be mobilised for consumers with priority given to critical premises.

“We are making all efforts to minimise the impact of disruption on affected consumers. Those in the affected areas are advised to store enough water while waiting for the water supply to fully recover.

“Air Selangor will provide updates progressively from time to time through all mediums. Consumers can also refer to all our official communication channels including the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300,” Elina said.

Members of the public who wish to make inquiries or file complaints can do so at the Help
