SHAH ALAM, June 14 — A total of 200 traders have participated in the halal food preparation course since May 21, said the state executive councillor for halal industry Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni.

He said the guidance course organised by Yayasan Al-Mogni Malaysia was aimed at providing exposure and guidance on halal food to traders and the people in the state.

“Its main goal is to provide exposure and guidance in order to educate on the importance of preparing halal food as well as to strengthen the spread of knowledge and understanding on halal and haram matters in Islam.

“The programme was conducted in a highly conducive manner and will be able to increase the understanding of the halal industry, especially in Selangor,” he told Selangorkini.

Mohd Zawawi said so far, seven out of the 10-series-programme had been held in seven state constituencies at Sungai Kandis, Pandan Indah, Meru, Morib, Port Klang, Taman Medan and Sungai Tua.

“A total of 200 individuals have participated in the seven series of the programme and we expect the number to reach 300 people when all 10 series are completed.

“The remaining three state constituencies are in Bukit Melawati on June 18, Taman Templer on June 19 and Kajang on June 20,” he said.
