SHAH ALAM, June 3 — The Jualan Ehsan roadshow offering fresh wet products at affordable prices will take place at the Taman Medan morning market site in Petaling Jaya tomorrow, from 10am to 1pm.
The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) said it will use lorries to sell the basic goods, which include chicken, fish, beef, fruits and vegetables at a lower price compared to the ordinary market prices.
“Standard chicken is sold at RM10.50 per kg, packet chicken at RM25 (2 kg per packet) economy packet chickens at RM10 (800 g per packet) whereas beef including the bones is RM32 per kg.
“Mackerel and selayang fish is sold at RM8 per packet, whereas fruits and vegetables will be sold for much lower than market prices. In addition, other daily necessities will also be sold,” it said to SelangorKini today.
As such, PKPS invited the public to benefit from this opportunity as well as help to reduce their living costs.
In February, the state government launched the Ehsan Intervention Programme via the Prihatin Rakyat Sale and the Prihatin Mega Sale to reduce society’s burden.
On May 27, state executive councillor for agriculture and agro-industry Izham Hashim said the number of chickens which will be sold in affordable sales this month have been increased from 10,000 to 20,000 chickens a day.
He said the additional 10,000 chickens is due to high demand in Selangor.
