Dengkil, Sungai Ramal constituents encouraged to take part in free health checks today

SHAH ALAM, June 18 — The Selangor Saring free health screening programme continues in Dengkil and Sungai Ramal state constituencies today.

The programme are being held at Dewan Orang Ramai Taman Gemilang in Dengkil (Dengkil state constituency) and Dewan Komuniti Seksyen 4 in Bandar Baru Bangi (Sungai Ramal state constituency) from 9am to 5pm.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said on Sunday, it will be held at the basketball court next to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Tche Min in Sungai Pelek (Sungai Pelek state constituency) and at Padang MPAJ in Taman Kosas, Ampang (Teratai and Pandan Indah state constituencies).

“In Ampang, the programme will be held together with the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) carnival roadshow and we are anticipating 2,000 participants to attend the screening.

“Therefore, we will add more screening counters to smoothen the process as well as educate the visitors on health with help from the Hulu Langat Health Office,” she said.

The state government has allocated RM3.4 million for Selangor Saring, which is expected to benefit up to 39,000 people, particularly those with a family history of ailments, obese individuals, or those leading unhealthy lifestyles.

The programme, which will run until September 4, offers physical screenings including blood and urine, eyes, breasts and cervical tests, as well as colorectal and prostate tests.
