Four years in as MB, Amirudin owes it to team effort during challenging times

HULU LANGAT, June 19 — Four years after being sworn-in as the Selangor Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that it had been a challenging time.

The Sungai Tua state assemblyman said floods, Covid-19 and the aftermath of the pandemic, and the Sheraton move were among the unforeseeable circumstances he faced during that time.

“It’s been a tough four years filled with unexpected events… Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), I have a well-balanced and solid team to face these challenges with.

“Today, we can continue the leadership, and InsyaAllah (God willing), the term will come to a close, and we will do our best to carry this responsibility for the state as best we can,” said Amirudin when asked on the challenges faced throughout the four-year period of being a Selangor Menteri Besar.

Amirudin was met at the Selangor Penyayang roadshow Taman Kosas, Ampang here, today.

Meanwhile, Amirudin also thanked the people and his team for their faith in him during his four-year leadership.

“Thank you for putting your trust in us. The people’s cooperation and my team’s cooperation among state executive councillors, state civil workers, and state government subsidiaries who always work together.

“We are confronted with three or four major challenges, including Covid-19, the economic effect, and flooding. It wasn’t just myself, but my entire team, who went through it with determination and humility,” he said.

Amirudin was sworn in as the Selangor Menteri Besar four years ago today, on June 19, 2018, in Istana Alam Shah, Klang.

The swearing-in amd oath-taking ceremony was held in the presence of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.
