Hijrah Selangor channels over RM3 mln to assist Kuala Langat entrepreneurs

By Zareef Muzammil

KUALA LANGAT, June 25 — The Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah Selangor) has channelled funds amounting to RM3.42 million to assist entrepreneurs in Kuala Langat from January until June 24 this year.

State executive councillor for entrepreneurs development Rodziah Ismail said the funds involved seven financing schemes under Hijrah Selangor which are i-Bisnes, Zero to Hero, Niaga Darul Ehsan, Go Digital, i-Lestari, i-Agro and i-Bermusim.

She said the financing has helped entrepreneurs in Kuala Langat to expand their business thus generating more income.

“We noticed that 40 per cent of the entrepreneurs who have applied for the financing were able to generate more than RM100,000 of income.

“Hijrah Selangor provides a good ecosystem to entrepreneurs who want to apply for financing to expand their business.

“Therefore, we encourage entrepreneurs to apply with Hijrah Selangor and take advantage of this opportunity,” she said when met after handing over the Hijrah Selangor financing scheme to 20 entrepreneurs during the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at Dataran Pantai Morib, here today.

Also present during the event was Hijrah Selangor acting chief executive officer Normaiza Yahya.

She also handed over a mock cheque from Selangor Platform (Plats) to the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL).

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari when tabling the 2022 Selangor Budget on November 26 last year announced several improvements in the Hijrah Selangor financing scheme this year.

He announced an RM120 million fund to provide financing to entrepreneurs besides creating new schemes that provide loans of up to RM100,000 for traders to grow their businesses.
