Hulu Selangor to see strong weather until tonight — MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM, June 4 — Hulu Langat district is expected to undergo heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms until tonight, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a statement issued at 7.15pm, the agency said the strong weather is also expected to affect Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang) and Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub and Bentong).

“Other states and territories include Sarawak: Kuching (Bau), Serian, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong and Kapit (Bukit Mabong and Belaga).

“The inclement weather is expected to persist until 10pm,” it said.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
