JobCare career fair helps over 500 individuals secure jobs

GOMBAK June 4 —More than 500 participants were offered employment after attending job interviews at the state-organised career fair Jelajah JobCare (JobCare), which was launched in February.

Selangor Workers’ Empowerment Unit (UPPS) chief coordinator S Vijayan said the job seekers had secured employment in several sectors during the event’s six series of tours but it did not include those who were offered a second interview session.

“The response was very encouraging and is in line with state executive councillor for workers empowerment V Ganabatirau’s wish to help as many Selangor people as possible to get jobs.

“For all the tour series until June, we are targeting more than 600 participants to be employed immediately, not including those called for a second interview session,” he said when met at the Jelajah JobCare programme at Dewan Taman Gombak, here today.

Commenting on today’s career fair, he informed that a total of seven participants received job offers immediately after their interview session.

“As of 3pm today, more than 50 participants attended the interview session. Half of them were called for a second interview session,” he said.

The Jelajah JobCare career fair programme is held in the nine Selangor districts from February 26 to June 25, with 15 companies from various sectors offering some 3,000 job opportunities.
