TANJUNG KARANG, June 11 — More than 1,000 job seekers have participated in the Jelajah JobCare Selangor (JobCare) in Tanjung Karang yesterday.

State executive councillor for workers empowerment V Ganabatirau said out of the total, some 600 individuals sat for the physical interview while the remaining chose to do it in hybrid mode.

“What makes the programme different this time is that it is held in collaboration with the Malaysian Malay Businessman and Traders Association (Perdasama) in both physical and hybrid mode.

“I am excited as the number of participants is very encouraging compared to the previous roadshows. Apart from that, some 23 companies also took part in the programme, offering over 6,000 job opportunities,” he said at a press conference after launching the event at Dewan Dato’ Hormat, here yesterday.

Also present were Perdasama Selangor president Mohd Azamanizam Baharon and Permatang state assemblyman Rozana Zainal Abidin.

Meanwhile, Rozana said the young adults, especially those from the rural areas, should grab the opportunity to get employed through the JobCare event.

She said the event in rural areas had been organised to suit the crowd and ensure a high employment rate.

“Although there are 23 companies, they are from various sectors and are specially brought to meet the needs of the job seekers.

“There should not be much excuse from the local youth on job placements as we have brought the initiative to them,” she said when met at the event.

Rozana added that she had also placed several company brochures at her office to help those who are looking for job opportunities.

“The brochures will be given to any individuals who are looking for jobs. There are many job opportunities available in the market, just that it is not what they are looking for,” she said.
