Perodua Ativa awaits ‘hole-in-one’ winner at Tourism Selangor tournament

PETALING JAYA, June 21 — The luckiest participant to card a ‘Hole-in-One’ at the fourth Tourism Selangor Golf Tournament scheduled on July 23 set to drive home a brand new Perodua Ativa.

Tourism Selangor Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad believes the grand prize would be the major attraction for the tournament to be held in Seri Selangor Golf Club (KGSS) here.

He said about 120 golfers are expected to participate this year, including representatives from the public and private sectors, well-known golfers, celebrities, as well as golfers who live abroad, and players from across the country with the participation fee set at RM499.

“This tournament sets the stage for a networking event that should be good for everyone who takes part. We encourage the participants to not only demonstrate golfing skills but also visit the tourist sites around the golf course.

“We are more focused on promoting tourism products. On the day of the tournament, we will place posters of tourist locations in Selangor such as the Sky mirror, paragliding and padi fields in Sekinchan,” he said at a press conference here today.

He added that the golfers also have a chance to win lucrative prizes in a lucky draw session held during the event.

He said the tournament is also a way to show support to the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), which is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year.

“Tourism Selangor is hosting this annual tournament as a great way to bring together people in the Selangor tourism industry as well as people from government and private sectors,” he added.
