PKNS targets up to RM5 mln transactions for SELBIZ 2022

KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) is targeting transactions worth up to RM5 million during the Selangor Entrepreneur Expo 2022 (SELBIZ 2022) with a target attendance of 10,000 visitors.

PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said the programme, which was organised for the first time, was expected to be a driver of Selangor’s economic performance this year, further intensifying economic growth in the post-pandemic period.

“SELBIZ 2022 expects the registration of entrepreneurs from the retail and services sector industries. I also hope to see more people joining us,” he said in a statement today.

According to PKNS, SELBIZ 2022 aims to provide opportunities for start-up entrepreneurs and small traders to introduce and promote products to a wider audience.

“SELBIZ 2022 is an additional initiative from various programmes organised by PKNS to support and uplift entrepreneurs in the state (Selangor) and is expected to be held biannually,” he said.

The first edition of the expo will be held from September 3 to September 4, 2022, from 10am to 10pm at the Shah Alam Convention Centre with a total of 160 booths available for the involvement of local entrepreneurs.

PKNS said various contents were provided at the expo, including a series of forums consisting of four knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at helping traders improve their brands with a forum panel comprising experts from various industries and professionals.

The expo also provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to establish business networks and liaise directly with agencies such as the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), SME Corp, Tekun Nasional, Selangor Digital E-Supply, Majlis Amanah Rakyat as well as supermarket chains such as Malakat Mall and Lotus’s,” he added.
