SHAH ALAM, June 23 — The Selangor Platform (Plats), which was launched two years ago, has helped generate economic growth for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs), especially among the hawkers and grocers in the state.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said through the promotional and digital directory platform, the traders could attract more customers and subsequently double up their sales.

“Since its launch, a total of 10,045 traders have taken advantage of the programme. It has proven to be effective following the increased number of participation.

“From 2,868 traders in 2020, the number has increased tremendously to 7,177 traders last year. This initiative is among the state’s digitalisation agenda that continues to evolve,” he said on Facebook yesterday.

Plats was introduced to complement the Selangor Digitisation Agenda ecosystem through a digital platform following the outbreak of Covid-19.

Plats 2.0 was launched on April 11 of last year to assist traders in generating income throughout the year and not only during the fasting month.

For this year, the virtual platform was continued in April, with the collaboration with the Selangor Digital Partner (Rakan Digital Selangor or RDS).
