SHAH ALAM, June 12 — Some 22,000 individuals have registered for the Selangor Kerjaya (Selangor Jobs) programme organised by the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI) since it was launched in January last year.

MBI chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said the programme, which aims to boost the people’s economy post-pandemic, has helped 1,400 individuals in getting employed.

“The initiative serves as a career matching platform between the job seekers and future employers. Those interested would just need to register at the MBI website.

“A total of 200 employers from various industries have taken part in the programme, mostly from the manufacturing and retail sectors,” she said when met at the Selangor Mega Job Fair 2022, here yesterday.

Norita said MBI had also participated in the state-organised job fair event that was held at the MBSA Convention Centre, here, to facilitate the registration process.

“The candidates could also look up for more details on the initiative and register themselves at the MBI booth,” she said.

Selangor Kerjaya is a talent and human capital  management programme that was launched in January 2021 by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The programme runs until December 2023 and aims to get 10,000 workforce placements through a profiling system, job matching and upskilling of candidates.

In the long run, MBI plans to build a database for the state’s human capital development, and fulfil skill demands and career paths through the reskilling process.
