SHAH ALAM, June 30 — One man was killed and six students injured in a traffic accident involving two vehicles at Jalan Saujana Utama in Sungai Buloh this afternoon.
In the 1.08pm incident, Muhamad Zaki Ariffin, 52, died at the scene of the incident, while the six students, all aged seven, sustained light injuries.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they arrived at the scene by 1.17pm, and discovered the accident involved a Perodua Aruz and Proton Exora, all of which were carrying students.
“According to witnesses the Perodua Aruz, driven by a woman, was exiting the intersection and collided with the victim’s vehicle, which came from the left direction.
“This resulted in a strong crash and caused the victim’s vehicle to overturn,” he said.
Muhamad Zaki was pronounced dead at the site, while the injured students were sent to the hospital for further treatment.
