Supermarket Buyers Programme receives good response

By Alang Bendahara

SHAH ALAM, June 4 — The Selangor International Exhibition (SIE) Food and Beverages (F&B) Supermarket Buyers Programme organised by Invest Selangor Bhd (Invest Selangor) has received good responses from the public and supermarket owners.

Invest Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari said the inaugural programme that involved selected exhibitors from SIE F&B 2021, has helped the traders in increasing exposure to their products.

“It is hoped that this programme will enable the participants to increase their market presence and attract more small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) to participate in this year’s SIE F&B event.

“Based on this good response, we may hold a similar event next year,” he said during a visit to the Supermarket Buyers Programme at ST Rosyam Mart in Section 9, here today.

Sri Ternak Group of Companies chief executive officer and managing director Dato’ Raymond Ho said the organisation of the programme at the ST Rosyam Mart was timely.

“Our outlet in Shah Alam receives around 10,000 visitors per day and responses from the buyers are good. The timing of this programme is timely as the market is now opening up and making a comeback,” he said when met during the programme here today.

He said the programme also acts as a test market for the exhibitors’ products.

“Based on the customers’ feedback, many asked us to incorporate the exhibitors’ products as regular products in our supermarket. Thus we will incorporate several of the products into our lineup of products after this,” he said.

The 10 days programme is also held at Lulu Hypermarket in Setia City Mall. A total of 25 exhibitors from the food and beverages industry are participating in the programme, which runs from May 27 until June 5 at both venues.

It is held in conjunction with the Selangor International Business Summit 2022 (SIBS 2022) scheduled from October 6 to October 9 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, which will feature 850 booths during the four-day expo.
