KUALA SELANGOR, July 2 — The Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) programme that was launched last month encompasses 11 new initiatives to improve the quality of life for state citizens.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that including the new initiatives, a total of 44 initiatives are offered to the people in Selangor for sustainable living and development.
Among the initiatives introduced are the free health screening Selangor Saring, Iltizam Anak Penyayang, Selangor Cancer screening programme (CanSEL) and Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat) programme.
“We started with seven programmes in 2008 with the theme ‘Merakyatkan Ekonomi Negeri’, and in 2017, we launched the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR) covering 43 welfare programmes.
“In 2019, we streamlined and empowered it into 33 welfare programmes. Now for ISP, we added 11 more programmes, bringing the total to 44 welfare programmes with an expenditure of more than RM600 million,” he said when delivering his speech at the Selangor Penyayang roadshow in Kuala Selangor today.
The Menteri Besar said the change from IPR to ISP was due to the state’s principle of being more concerned, caring and loving for its citizens.
“We don’t just want to help but also want to care for the people more inclusively by implementing various initiatives that guarantee their (healthy) lives.
“Not only by giving money to treat their sickness but also to know more about their (health) status in life,” he said.
