135 Yayasan Selangor students participate in Unisel STEM programme

SHAH ALAM, July 5 — A total of 135 students in Form Three, Form Four and Form Five who are sponsored by Yayasan Selangor have participated in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Amusement Day that was organised by Universiti Selangor (Unisel).

In a statement on Facebook, Unisel said the programme was held for three days from July 1 to 3 at the university’s Bestari Jaya campus to attract the interest of secondary school students in STEM education.

“Various interesting curriculum and co-curricular activities were held during the programme to prepare the students before they enter the university.

“Unisel strongly supports STEM education to create creative students who will continue to innovate in the current technological era,” said Unisel.

The school students were exposed to six STEM modules from Unisel’s Engineering Department and its Science and Biotechnology Department, which included Explore the World of Electricity..Let’s Go!, Structure and Civil Work Measurement – Where to Build?, Paper Plane – Mechanical Concept, Sierpinski Pyramid, Drones at Home and Microbes Art.

The closing ceremony of the STEM Amusement Day which took place yesterday was officiated by the Unisel Faculty of Engineering and Life Sciences dean Assoc Prof Dr Dzulkarnain Ahmad and attended by Yayasan Selangor senior education manager Zahura Zakry
