SEPANG, July 4 — The signing of the Land Boundary Agreement between Selangor and Negeri Sembilan today will facilitate development in both states, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the land alignment that was marked and measured with a distance of 111.9 km will provide economic benefits to the people in the future.
“InsyaAllah, in several days Selangor will present the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) where some of our development and planning methods will be drawn and sketched.
“Confirming these boundaries can contribute to accurate and correct planning for comprehensive development,” Amirudin said.
The Menteri Besar was speaking at the agreement’s signing ceremony between Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, at Hotel Sama-Sama earlier today.
Work on the land boundary’s demarcation and measurement between the two states began on May 5, 2016, and was fully completed on March 17, 2018.
He said although the land alignment process is over, it marks the beginning for the two states to commence negotiations on determining the maritime boundary.
“With the completion of the land, measurements of the sea will begin. This process will also be managed by the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (Jupem),” Amirudin said.
The ceremony was witnessed by Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and Negeri Sembilan Rural Development state executive councillor Datuk Ismail Ahmad.
