First Selangor Plan an inclusive policy, integrates federal, state blueprints

SHAH ALAM, July 7 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) will soon be unveiled and aims to map Selangor’s future for the following five years and beyond.

The Menteri Besar said all of the federal and state level planning, policies and blueprints have been merged into the RS-1 to create a better structured and efficient plan that would benefit all Selangor citizens and businesses.

He said RS-1 will not function on its own to undermine the Malaysia Plan (MP), which is currently in its 12th edition.

“RS-1 is a comprehensive plan that complements the 12th MP and the Shared Prosperity Vision (SPV 2030), that was announced in 2019. This is a framework by the state government and the private sectors, especially companies owned by the state.

“I have mentioned several times that we never sideline the 12th MP, the SPV or current policies in Selangor such as the Selangor Smart State 2025 Blueprint, Public Transport Blueprint, and the Industrial and Investment Blueprint. All these were taken into consideration and examined before developing the RS-1 masterplan.

“Based on the research, consultations and engagement that have been conducted, Selangor is convinced that the implementation of RS-1 will help to map the state’s future,” he said during a media conference at the First Selangor Plan Pre-Launch Symposium at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Convention Centre, here today.

Amirudin said the tabling of the RS-1 will be done during the question and answer session at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting on July 25, which will later be debated along with answers and reports by respective state executive councillors.

“I hope that RS-1 will be approved by all state assemblymen in order to create a more comprehensive plan to ensure that the state development is more thorough,” he added.
