GOMBAK, July 11 — The free health screening programme Selangor Saring, which was postponed in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations, will resume next weekend in the Petaling district.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme will be part of the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow, which will take place in Petaling.

“Selangor Saring is under the aegis of Selgate, and I must review the nearest date. But it will most certainly take place next week in Petaling, as part of the roadshow series by the state government.

“It could not be held this week due to the Aidiladha festivities, so was temporarily halted to give way for social activities,” he said when met at the Qurban Perdana programme at Sungai Tua, earlier today.

The Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow is aimed at introducing various new and improved initiatives for the people and will take place in Petaling on July 24.

Running from 8am to 5.30pm, it will be held at Dataran Boulevard, on the grounds of the Petaling Jaya City Council.

Selangor Saring is aimed at detecting chronic illnesses with an expenditure of RM1.5 million, and will benefit up to 5,000 people, particularly high-risk groups.

Last month Jelajah Selangor Penyayang took place in Taman Kosas at Ampang Jaya, as well as Dataran Pantai Morib in Kuala Langat, where they were both well-received by the public.

The roadshow will conclude at Padang Awam Batu Caves in Gombak on July 31.
