KUALA SELANGOR, July 2 — A total of 100,000 citizens of Selangor are expected to benefit from the Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS) initiative that was launched earlier today, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said through the scheme, the recipients would receive basic treatment assistance up to RM500, insurance coverage up to RM5,000 and RM1,000 death benefits (khairat kematian).

“Other than treatment and medicine, the state government would also offer vaccination to ensure more people in Selangor receive the best protection,” he said on Facebook today.

He explained that ISS is a health protection programme for Selangor people which has been improved, replacing the existing state health insurance scheme.

During the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at Stadium Utama Kuala Selangor today, Amirudin informed that RM67 million was allocated for the health subcluster in the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) programme to ensure the people in the state could live a more sustainable and developed life.

The allocation covers nine other programmes namely the Heart Treatment scheme, the Selangor Health Aid (BSS) and the Selangor Saring screening programme.

Also included in the health cluster are the Selangor Cancer (CanSEL) screening, Selangor Child Nutrition (Asas), Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat), tuberculosis treatment, eye examination initiative as well as the Women Health Scheme.
