KUALA LANGAT, July 4 — The state government has improved its health programme by introducing various initiatives under Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) for the benefit and well-being of the people.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said among ISP’s various benefits is Selangor Saring, which helps the people of the state to check their health to detect chronic diseases in the early stages.

“This year we enhanced the Selangor Saring programme so the people can not only check their health but also prevent any chronic diseases from happening early on.

“This indicates the state government is caring and wants its citizens to stay healthy and protected. We have proven that we not only want to take care of their health but also want to ensure they remain healthy.

“This is what I am saying of not giving ‘political sweets’ (gula-gula politik) but to improve the quality of life of the people as a whole,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking at the Selangor Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Economic Bureau Charity Dinner at Dewan Persatuan Bola Keranjang Kuala Langat here last night.

The ceremony was attended by over 1,000 individuals including Selangor Trust chairman Izham Hashim, state executive councillor for trade and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, and state executive councillor for rural development and traditional village Borhan Aman Shah.

During the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at Stadium Utama Kuala Selangor on July 2, Amirudin announced that RM67 million has been allocated for the ISP health subcluster to ensure the people in Selangor can live a more sustainable and developed life.

The allocation is for the implementation of 10 main initiatives including the Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS), the Heart Treatment scheme, the Selangor Health Aid (BSS) and the Selangor Saring screening programme.

Also included in the health cluster is the Selangor Cancer (CanSEL) screening, Selangor Child Nutrition (Asas), Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat), Tuberculosis Treatment, Eye Examination initiative as well as the Women Health scheme.
