SELAYANG, July 3 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI will look at applications for the installation of solar systems, particularly in low-cost apartments and playgrounds.
Its corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said MBI is ready to accept applications if there is a need for the amenity.
“This is the first time we have received an application for the installation of solar lights, InsyaAllah, it will not be a problem to obtain approval.
“We use significantly more environmentally friendly solar technology which is also cost-effective, particularly when it comes to the cost of electricity bills,” he said during the officiation of Pangsapuri Taman Bidara’s solar lighting system here yesterday.
Ahmad Azri added that MBI has received many applications for aid to repair water pumps for multi-storey dwellings.
During the ceremony, he also officiated the use of the solar lighting system in the apartment which was also attended by Bukit Lanjan state assemblyman Elizabeth Wong.
Ahmad Azri said the project, with a RM36,800 allocation, is an inaugural one by MBI in the area, as previously it did not have any lighting amenities at night.
