PH shown good governance, introduce people-centric initiatives — Anwar

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) has succeeded in implementing various people-oriented initiatives when governing the country before the coalition’s fall from power, says Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said in a short period of time, PH had demonstrated its capability to rule the country effectively, despite frequent criticism from political rivals who claimed that the ministers in the previous administration had failed to perform their duties.

“Saifuddin (Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution) as the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister had managed to control the price of goods. The current minister has a lot to learn from Saifuddin.

“Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (Deputy Prime Minister and Women, Family and Community Development Minister) had introduced the Employees Provident Fund (EPF)’s i-Suri voluntary contribution incentive and prioritised the welfare of women and people with disabilities.

“Anthony Loke at the Transport Ministry had also introduced various successful initiatives,” said Anwar when officiating the 16th PKR National Congress here today.

Recently, Anwar had also urged all party leaders to take heed and not follow the attitude of former leaders who turned into traitors after being distracted by offers of position and power.

Themed Upholding Justice (Menjulang Keadilan), the three-day national congress, which was postponed last year due to the Covid-19 outbreak, is held at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam.
