PKPS aims to rake in RM300,000 from Jualan Ehsan for Aidiladha

KUALA LANGAT, July 5 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) is targeting RM300,000 in revenue from the Jualan Ehsan sale carnival, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.

PKPS senior marketing manager Md Fazir Abdul Latif is confident the target can be met, based on the overwhelming response from shoppers on the first day of the large-scale sale of basic goods at Taman Perwira in Sijangkang here today.

“The sale carnival will be held at five locations for four consecutive days. We expect its sales to reach a maximum of RM55,000 depending on the quantity of products brought to each location.

InsyaAllah, the target can be achieved. Even today PKPS had to increase supplies to meet the demand. Here in Taman Perwira, we can earn about RM40,000 in sales,” he said when met by SelangorKini today.

Md Fazir added that 1,200 chickens, 1,000 trays of Grade B chicken eggs and 1,700 packets of cooking oil were sold out within an hour today.

He said they had to resupply with an additional 900 chickens and another 500 trays to meet visitors’ demands.

“These basic goods are really in high demand from the people especially before the festive season, not to mention the items are cheaper compared to market prices.

Alhamdulillah, we did not expect to receive such an overwhelming response with people willing to queue up as early as 7.30am,” Md Fazir said.

He also urged the public not to miss the opportunity to get fresh basic goods fresh from the farm for affordable prices at Jualan Ehsan.

“So with another three days left involving four locations, we want the public to go out and see for themselves the goods offered by PKPS.

“This is one of the facilities we provide to help ease the burden of the people following the increase in the prices of goods,” Md Fazir said.

He said they had chosen the locations for the sale carnival to be in areas with a high population of low-income families (B40).

Jualan Ehsan commences today at Taman Perwira Sijangkang and followed by the location opposite Petron Section BB8, Jalan Kantan 2 in Bukit Beruntung (July 6) and Dataran Batu Laut in Tanjung Sepat (July 7).

On July 8, the sale will take place simultaneously at Jalan GP2, Taman Gombak Permai in Gombak and behind Blocks D and E of Pangsapuri Inai in Pandan Indah.

The products offered are fresh whole chicken at RM15 each, grade B eggs at RM12 per tray, cooking oil at RM2 per packet, fresh meat at RM35 per kg and frozen fish at RM8 per packet.

The sale carnival that opens from 9am to 2pm also sells rice, glutinous rice, mini ketupat, flour, bottled cooking oil and sugar.
