SHAH ALAM, July 25 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) will be holding an affordable sale of basic necessities as part of the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow in Gombak on July 31.

The state government-organised programme will be held at Padang Awam Batu Caves.

“The people of Gombak are invited to the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang with the theme ‘Holistic Education, Dynamic Young Generation’ on July 31, 2022, from 8am to 6pm. See you there!” it said on Twitter.

Basic goods will be offered at affordable prices, including chicken at RM15, grade B chicken eggs at RM12.50 per tray, cut chicken at RM10 for 800g and RM25 for 2kg, bones at RM35 per kg, fresh meat at RM35 per kg, as well as mackerel and selayang fish at RM10 per kg.

The tour on July 31 is the fifth edition of the programme and was previously held at Taman Kosas Ampang Jaya, Square Morib Beach Kuala Langat, Utama Stadium Kuala Selangor and Dataran Boulevard Laman at the Petaling Jaya City Council.

Its events include performances by artists, aerobics, cook-offs, flower arranging, popular sports and exhibitions.

The initiative was provided with a RM350 million allocation so that more Selangor residents can derive from the state government’s benefits.

The Selangor Saring free health screening programme will also take place during the roadshow, to help the public detect chronic diseases, with an expenditure of RM1.5 million that is expected to benefit up to 5,000 people, especially individuals at risk.
