SHAH ALAM, July 6 — The state government will be organising the second Selangor Mega Job Fair for 2022 in September, as part of its efforts to maintain the unemployment rate below four per cent in the state.
State executive councillor for youth, sports and human capital development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the second edition of the mega job fair will take place in Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (Maeps), Serdang.
He said the event will see the participation of over 200 companies, and focusing on the hotel sector, the sports industry as well as job opportunities for the disabled persons (OKU) group.
“Hopefully Selangor residents, especially youths, will take this opportunity provided by the state government and register to participate at www.selangorjobportal.com.my, obtaining more information related to the jobs offered, thus helping to fill up and increase the labour opportunities in the state,” Mohd Khairuddin said in a statement today.
The first Selangor Mega Job Fair 2022 programme was held on June 11 and June 12 at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Convention Centre. The two-days programme saw a total of 8,201 visitors.
The councillor said as of July 6, a total of 1,996 applicants were offered jobs while 3,601 applicants succeeded in the second round of the interview process.
