SHAH ALAM, July 24 — The second phase of the Selangor Penyayang Roadshow to introduce various new and improved initiatives to the people will be implemented soon, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the programme would continue its tour to four districts in Klang, Sabak Bernam, Sepang and Hulu Selangor focussing on five main aspects on welfare, family, housing, health and education.
“The second phase of the programme is a continuation of the current Selangor Penyayang roadshow which is being carried out at Dataran Boulevard in Petaling today and in Padang Awam Batu Caves, Gombak on July 31.
“Prior to this, we have implemented the same programme in the Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor districts,” he said as a guest on TV3’s Malaysia Hari Ini (MHI) talk show today.
Amirudin is scheduled to officiate the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at Dataran Boulevard, Laman MBPJ (Petaling Jaya City Council) today.
The programme which starts at 8am until 5.30pm, was realised through an RM350 million initiative to get more people to benefit from the state government’s programmes.
Also included in the event is the Selangor Saring free health screening programme, with a total allocation of RM1.5 million which is expected to benefit 5,000 people especially those in risky groups.
The roadshow will be enlivened with the presence of famous celebrities including Hazama and Ernie Zakri aside from featuring other activities including musical performances, aerobics, cooking competitions, flower arrangements, people’s sports, exhibitions and sales.
