Selangor preps over 40 quality-improving initiatives for welfare, people’s lives

SHAH ALAM, July 25 — The state government is offering 44 initiatives to improve the lives of the people in Selangor, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said all the programmes have been packaged as Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) with an allocation of over RM600 million.

“Starting with seven programmes in 2008, Selangor now offers 44 initiatives to improve the lives of the state’s people,” Amirudin said on Twitter.

ISP was launched last month as a replacement of Insiatif Peduli Rakyat, and has 11 new initiatives.

Among the initiatives introduced including the free health programme Selangor Saring, Iltizam Anak Penyayang, Saringan Barah and Selangor Mental Sihat.

The initiatives’ inaugural launch in 2008 was under the theme ‘Merakyatkan Ekonomi Negeri‘ and subsequently in 2017, Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat was launched which encompassed 43 charity programmes.

“In 2019, we aligned 33 grants by empowering them. This time for ISP we added 11 more, making it a total of 44 programmes offered to the people with a budget of over RM600 million,” the Menteri Besar said during the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow in Kuala Selangor on July 2.

In June, the state government launched Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Sejahtera (Bingkas) to replace replacing Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (KISS), which is expected to benefit up to 30,000 families.
