KUALA SELANGOR, July 2 — Nearly 5,000 visitors participated in the Selangor Penyayang roadshow which took place at Stadium Utama Kuala Selangor here from 8am until 5.30pm today.

Various activities were held during the roadshow including aerobics, traditional/folks sports, a colouring contest as well as Mobile Legends and Fifa e-sports competition.

Aside from that, the crowd was also entertained by well-known singer Wani Hasrita and Mr X Buskers.

The roadshow aims to promote various welfare initiatives for the public with the support of 23 state government subsidiaries.

The initiative was made possible by an RM350 million commitment from Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) to replace the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR) programme, allowing more residents to benefit from the state government’s initiatives.

This includes Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas), which has taken over from Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (KISS), assisting up to 30,000 families instead of the previous 25,000.

Also included is the Selangor Saring programme, which costs RM1.5 million and serves 5,000 people, particularly those at risk.

The programme was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who handed over aid to the recipients of Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS), Bantuan Sihat Selangor (BSS) and Peduli Sihat for civil servant programme, he also gave the awards to the best village in the Kuala Selangor district.

The programme will continue at Dataran Boulevard, Petaling Jaya on July 23 followed by Padang Awam Batu Caves, Gombak on July 31.
