SHAH ALAM, Aug 11 — A total of 180 volunteers from the KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) and SME Bank took part in the cleaning programme at several orphanages in the state.

Among the orphanages involved in the programme include Pertubuhan Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Pertubuhan Rahoma Darul Fakir Malaysia, Rumah Kasih Harmoni and Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera.

KDEBWM managing director Ramli Mohd Tahir said the corporate social responsibility programme was held on August 6 involving four orphanages under the management of Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (Yide).

“Aside from promoting volunteerism, this programme is also in line with the Selangor government’s and KDEBWM’s efforts in uplifting the National Cleanliness Policy and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SGG).

“During the programme, KDEBWM also provided the Roll On Roll Off bins to collect the bulk waste and contributed recycling bins to educate them to recycle their waste,” he said in a statement.

Ramli added that KDEBWM will continue to achieve the SDG in line with the company’s direction which is ‘Together We Make Selangor Clean’.
