The athletes are M Thinaah, who contributed two gold medals in badminton’s mixed doubles and women doubles as well as table tennis athlete Choong Javen who won the silver medal in the mixed doubles match.

MSNS executive director Mohamad Nizam Marjugi said the rewards will be handed over soon after a discussion with Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“The reward is a show of appreciation for the two athletes who had worked hard to win the Commonwealth Games medals,” he said when contacted today.

On August 3, Thinaah and her pair Pearly Tan defeated India’s doubles Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand Pullela in straight sets, 21-18 and 21-17.
