SHAH ALAM, Aug 11 — A total of 397 areas in Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat here will experience unscheduled water supply disruption from 10am today due to the temporary shutdown of the Langat 2 water treatment plant at 4.30am earlier this morning.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement said that the temporary closure was due to a chemical pollution incident at Sungai Semantan, Pahang, caused by an accident at KM75.9 on the Karak-Bentong Highway heading towards Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.
“Air Selangor would like to inform of the temporary shut down of the Langat 2 water treatment plant at 4.30am due to a chemical pollution incident at Sungai Semantan, Pahang.
“A total of 397 areas in the Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat region is expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruption starting from 10am. The full list of affected areas will be shared as soon as possible,” the statement read.
