Air Selangor: Nearly 200 Hulu Selangor areas to experience water disruptions next week due to WTP works

SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — The Sungai Rasa Water Treatment Plant is expected to undergo asset upgrading and maintenance works next week, which will disrupt the water supply to 188 areas in the Hulu Selangor region.

In a post on Twitter today, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) reminded users that the works will commence at 9am on August 9, with full recovery expected by 1am on August 11.

“Consumers are advised to make the necessary preparations. Store enough water for the whole household and make sure all water storage containers are covered,” said Air Selangor.

Last month Air Selangor announced the implementation of the works which have been approved by the National Water Service Commission (SPAN) to ensure the water supply distribution system is at an optimum level for the convenience of consumers in the future.

“The water supply is expected to be distributed in stages to consumers starting from 1am on August 10, after the upgrading and maintenance works have been completed and the water supply distribution system stabilised.

“The duration of water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumer’s premises and water pressure at the distribution system,” it said.

To this, the agency will mobilise water tankers to affected areas, with priority given to critical premises including hospitals, dialysis centres and funerals.

“Air Selangor would like to advise affected consumers to keep adequate water supply and use water prudently during this period of scheduled water supply disruption.

“For commercial customers, the purchase of water supply can be made at Air Selangor’s customer service counters in the Gombak and Petaling regions. Commercial customers can use their respective water tanker trucks at two local water filling stations in Batu Caves dan Persiaran Mahogani Kota Damansara,” it said.

Consumers can obtain information on scheduled water supply disruptions from time to time through Air Selangor’s official communication channels including the Air Selangor app, FacebookInstagram and Twitter, or contact Air Selangor at 15300.

Questions and complaints can be submitted to the Help Center on the website www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor app.
